Since independence, many constitutional rights have been given to empower women at the social level in India. Apart from this, many schemes have been run from time to time by the central and state governments to improve their economic condition. Through these schemes, the government wants to improve the economic condition of women and move them towards self-employment.

In this episode, today we are going to tell you about a very great scheme of the Odisha government. The name of this scheme is Subhadra Yojana. Subhadra Yojana was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of his birthday on 17 September. Under the Subhadra Yojana, financial assistance of ten thousand rupees per year is being provided to the women of the state.

The financial assistance of ten thousand rupees is released annually in two installments. Under each installment, an amount of five thousand rupees is transferred to the account of women. Only women of Odisha state can take advantage of this scheme. Women from other states do not get the benefit of this scheme.

Only women between 21 and 60 years old can apply to Subhadra Yojana. To avail of the benefits of this scheme, it is necessary for the names of the women to be linked to the ration card under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or State Food Security Scheme (SFSS).

The benefit of this scheme is being given to those women who are financially very weak. Women coming from rich families cannot take advantage of this scheme. Apart from this, the benefit of the scheme will not be given to government employees and women filing income tax returns.
