Yoga has many benefits, which help in improving physical, mental, and spiritual health. Properly done yoga practice improves heart health. Weight control, flexibility, and strength are achieved. At the same time, mental problems like stress anxiety, and sleep problems also improve. Yoga strengthens immunity and keeps away from many diseases. However, despite being so effective for health, do you know that small mistakes made while doing yoga can cause harm instead of benefit? Avoid those common mistakes during yoga which can hurt health.

Dirty yoga mat

Often people focus on yoga but do not pay attention to the surrounding environment. The yoga mat on which you sit and practice can often be cheap and dirty. Cheap yoga mats start slipping, which increases the risk of injury. At the same time, a dirty yoga mat can be the cause of many diseases.

Excessive load on the wrists
While doing yoga, do not put extra weight on your wrists. Focus on strengthening the wrists before remaining in the same posture for too long. Avoid practicing such yoga postures, which make your body unstable or put all the load on the wrists.

Not warming up
Warming up should be done before doing yoga. Many people start practicing difficult postures directly, which can cause muscle strain and pain. Warming up makes the body flexible and the muscles are prepared for yoga.

Being in a hurry
Often people change postures quickly in an attempt to do many yoga postures or practice difficult postures without preparing the body. Hurrying can cause injury.

Not paying attention to breathing
The correct balance of breathing is important in yoga practice. Many times people hold their breath while doing yoga or breathe irregularly, due to which the full benefit of yoga is not obtained. During pranayama and asanas, attention should be paid to the correct way of breathing in and out.
