Summers have started and during this time the biggest problems are sweating, body odor, sunburn as well as red rashes and pimples. People whose skin is sensitive, they have to bear the brunt of it even more. The body's waste material also comes out through sweat, and in such a situation, in summer, when the body needs hydration and cooling, then the sweat starts stinking even more.
This is applicable for all parts of the body and this problem increases even more in the feet. You must have noticed that many people's feet stink so much that you do not even like to sit near them. The feet are one of those parts of the body in which bad odour is formed and if you do not pay much attention to your feet while taking a bath, then these bacteria of the feet may cause more problems.
We spoke to beauty expert Shahnaz Hussain to know more about it. Ms.Shahnaz also told us what are the ways to reduce the smell of feet and avoid foot fungus, rashes etc. and what should be kept in mind while taking a bath.
Some very important tips for foot care in summer-
First of all, you have to keep in mind that foot care becomes more important in summer because during this time bacteria and fungi are formed very easily.
- While taking a bath daily, clean between the toes as well.
- Similarly, while drying the body, dry between the toes as well and apply talcum powder.
- If you wear closed shoes, sprinkle talcum powder inside the shoes as well. However, sandals, slippers or open shoes are best during summer.
- If you wear open slippers, then dirt and mud come in more and in this case, foot hygiene becomes very important.
- Dip your feet in the water and sit in the evening. It should be cold water and put some salt in it.
Fungal infection and summer season
The risk of fungal infection increases a lot in this season. In humid and hot weather, this can become a problem for most people. Foot fungal infection is also known as 'athlete's foot'. In this, first, the skin of the feet starts drying, scales start falling in them and then itching starts.
If you are having this problem, then definitely talk to a dermatologist. Anti-fungal medicines and tubes etc. can prove to be better for this.
What can cause foot fungus?
There can be many reasons for foot fungus and the summer season can also be a problem.
- Due to wearing too-tight shoes
- Frequent sweating of feet
- Due to humidity
- Due to pre-existing skin disease
- Due to wearing unwashed socks for a long time
To avoid this, it would be better not to allow too much moisture in the feet and avoid tight shoes. Also, don't wear socks and if you are wearing, wear cotton socks that absorb sweat. Do not let the feet sweat excessively and use talcum powder. The drier the feet are, the sooner they will heal.
