Grilled Soya Burger is a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional meat burgers. It is perfect for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone looking for a plant-based option. Here's a recipe to make a tasty Grilled Soya Burger:
Ingredients: For the burger patty:
1 cup textured soy protein (TSP) or soy granules
1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 small carrot, grated
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon smoked paprika or chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for grilling
For assembling the burger:
Burger buns
Lettuce leaves
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced onions
Pickles
Condiments (such as ketchup, mustard, or mayo)
Instructions:
Place the textured soy protein or soy granules in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes or until the soy protein is rehydrated and soft. Drain and squeeze out any excess water.
In a mixing bowl, combine the rehydrated soy protein, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, bread crumbs, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, smoked paprika or chili powder, cumin powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Brush the surface with oil to prevent sticking.
Place the soya burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and heated through.
While the patties are grilling, you can lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each burger bun. Add lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, and any other desired toppings such as pickles.
Spread condiments like ketchup, mustard, or mayo on the top half of the burger bun.
Place the top bun over the toppings to complete the burger.
