Today we will talk about this topic and know why circumambulation is considered important in Hinduism and what is the spiritual and scientific reason behind it. But before that, we should know why should we go to the temple.
What is the importance of the temple in Hinduism?
The word temple means a place away from the mind i.e. a holy place where the mind and attention should not go to anything other than spirituality. The temple can also be called Malaya, such as Shivalaya, Jinalaya, etc. When we go to the temple, our mind gets away from enjoyment, luxury, work, meaning, anger, etc. Here the person gets spiritual energy and the mind remains calm. Since ancient times, the construction of temples is being done according to Vastu Shastra. That's why coming here does not affect the negative forces on the person and the mind gets directly connected with God. By worshiping and meditating on God while staying in the temple, the mind also gets spiritual satisfaction and it is considered essential for worshiping God. Tell that after worshiping, the special rules of circumambulation have also been told in the scriptures. Let's know, why is the circumambulation of the deity or temple.
Why is the circumambulation of the temple or deities
After worship, we do circumambulation of the deity or the place of worship. But the question also arises in the mind of many people why do we do this? So tell that the tradition of deities has been going on since ancient times. Religious and scientific reasons are hidden behind this. Explain that Parikrama is also called Pradakshina. Which also means turning to the right. Please tell that in the direction in which the clock rotates, a man should circumambulate in the same direction. It is believed that when a person moves from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere, they are affected by special natural forces. It is believed that by circumambulating the Devasthan, the negative powers present inside the person are eliminated and the blessings of the Gods and Goddesses are received. But it is very important to know some important things related to these.
Half circumambulation of Lord Shiva
It is known in the scriptures that the complete circumambulation of Lord Shiva is not done. It is forbidden to cross the place from where the stream emerges after Jalabhishek. That's why there is a law of half parikrama of Lord Shiva. By doing this Lord Shiva is pleased and blesses the seeker.

According to religious beliefs, Lord Ganesha is the first to be worshiped among all the deities. Along with this, it has been told in the scriptures that Lord Ganesha should be circumambulated thrice, and while doing so, one should repeat one's wish in one's mind. By doing this all the wishes of the seeker are fulfilled.
Govardhan Parikrama
Govardhan Mountain is situated in Mathura, the city of Lord Krishna. According to legends, Lord Shri Krishna saved the people of Braj from the wrath of Lord Indra by lifting the Govardhan mountain on his little finger in Bal Leela.
