Mango Kheer is a delicious and creamy dish made with ripe mangoes, rice, milk, and cardamom. Today we are going to tell you about its recipe.

Ingredients:

2 ripe mangoes, peeled and pureed

1/2 cup basmati rice

4 cups milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Few strands of saffron (optional)

Chopped pistachios or almonds for garnish

Mango chunks for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Wash basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Sieve and keep aside.

Put the milk to boil in a large heavy bottomed pan.

Add the soaked rice to the milk and cook on a slow flame, while stirring occasionally, till the rice is cooked completely and the milk thickens. This may take about 30 minutes.

Add sugar to the rice and milk mixture. Stir well till the sugar dissolves.

Add the mango puree to the pan and add it to the rice and milk mixture.

Continue cooking for a few more minutes till the flavors meld well and the kheer reaches the desired consistency.

Add cardamom powder and saffron threads and mix well.

Take the pan off the heat and let the kheer cool down to room temperature.

Once cooled, transfer the mango kheer to a serving dish or individual serving bowls.

Garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds and mango slices.

Refrigerate the kheer for a few hours to chill and allow the flavors to meld.

Serve the delicious Mango Kheer chilled and enjoy.
