When is Tulsi Vivah?
According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This year the festival of Tulsi Vivah is on 12 November 2024. On this day, Devuthani Ekadashi or Prabodhini Ekadashi also occurs, which is considered to be the day of Lord Vishnu waking up from four months of yogic sleep. This day is considered extremely auspicious and holy, and Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on this day.
Mythology
The myth of Tulsi Vivah is popular. Goddess Tulsi was born on earth as Vrinda. Vrinda was an Asura princess and she did penance for Lord Vishnu. Vrinda was married to an Asura named Jalandhar, who was invincible due to his strength and devotion to his husband. On the insistence of the gods, Lord Vishnu killed Jalandhar and after this, Vrinda cursed Vishnu that he would turn into stone (Shaligram). Later Lord Vishnu gave Vrinda the form of Tulsi and said that she would marry him only in the form of Shaligram. From then on, the tradition of Tulsi Vivah started.

Preparation and Decoration
Before Tulsi Vivah, the Tulsi plant is decorated in a beautiful pot or vessel. The plant is prepared for marriage and decorated like a bride. Colorful chunari, makeup items, flower garlands, and paper jewelry are decorated on the Tulsi plant. The idol of Lord Shaligram is decorated as a groom.
Bhog and Prasad's distribution
After the marriage rituals are completed, various types of dishes, sweets, and special prasad are offered to Tulsi ji. The Prasad of Tulsi Vivah contains especially pure and satvik food items. Later this prasad is distributed among all the devotees.

Use sesame seeds in Tulsi Vivah. Keep Lord Shaligram in the pot in which Mother Tulsi's plant is planted and then offer sesame seeds.
Apply turmeric soaked in milk on Tulsi ji and Shaligram Maharaj. It is considered auspicious in the worship of Tulsi Vivah.
