Peas are widely available in the winter season. If you are bored of eating pea curry, then you can try spicy pea pickles. It will prove to be perfect for you for lunch or dinner.

Serves : 3

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg peas
  • 1 teaspoon fennel
  • 3/4 tsp ajwain
  • half teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried mango powder
  • 4 teaspoons pickle masala
  • 2 tbsp oil

Method :

  • First of all, peel the peas and wash their grains with water and separate the water well.
  • Now put oil in a pan and let it heat on medium heat.
  • When the oil is hot, add fennel and celery to it and fry it well.
  • After roasting for some time, add turmeric powder and peas to it.
  • Now after a while add red chili powder and salt as per taste and mix it well.
  • After roasting all the spices for some time, add pickle masala and mix well.
  • Now put dried mango powder in it and cover the vessel and cook till the peas become soft.
  • Turn off the gas when the peas become soft and keep them in a box after it cools down.
  • A tasty spicy pickle of peas is ready. It can be eaten for lunch or dinner.
