Minimum Temperature For AC: In summer, people often run the AC at the lowest temperature of 16 degrees to get instant coolness after coming from outside. By doing this you get some coolness, but doing this becomes heavy on your pocket. This habit is wrong. Due to this, the electricity bill also comes more and it is also harmful to the health of the people sitting in the room.

Now this question must be arising in your mind as to what temperature it is right to run AC and at what temperature electricity can be saved. So let's know…

What should be the minimum temperature of the AC
According to a report by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a minimum temperature of 24 degrees is perfect for the people sitting in the room. This does not have a bad effect on health and also saves on electricity bills. BEE believes that AC air starts harming your health when you run AC at a temperature of 16 or 18 degrees for a long time. BEE has requested the Government of India to issue instructions to all the companies making ACs to make such air conditioners whose minimum temperature is set at 24 degrees.

Does cooling happen quickly at 16 degrees?
Many people think that AC gives quick cooling at 16 degrees. But this thinking is not completely correct. If you run the AC at 16 degrees then you will feel a little better cooling but it does more harm than good. If the AC is run even at 24 to 27 degrees, then it will cool the room at the same time. However, if you run at 16 or 18 degrees then the compressor gets overloaded and consumes more power.

Make economical use of AC like this…
1- Instead of setting the AC at 16 or 18 degrees, set it at 24 or 26 degrees.

2- By doing this, you can reduce the electricity bill by 25 to 35 percent. Also, it is better in terms of the environment.

3- Increasing the temperature of AC by 1 degree reduces power consumption by 3 to 4 percent.

4- Do not use AC continuously for a long time. Keep the AC off when not needed.

5- Get the AC room properly insulated so that cold air does not come out and cooling is better.
