When you are passing through your street, at some point or the other, a dog must have barked at you. Especially at night, these dogs bark a lot at people passing by and even bite many people. These dogs also run after people who go on two-wheelers or four-wheelers. In fact, if seen, the number of these stray dogs has increased a lot compared to before. In such a situation, people have to face a lot of problems because of these. Sometimes cases of biting children and sometimes cases of biting other people come to the fore. In such a situation, the question is that if a person dies after being bitten by a stray dog, then who will be responsible? Is there any law regarding this and if so, what does it say? So let's know about this. You can know about it in the next slides...
First, know these things:-
Whenever a dog barks, never run away, walk slowly
Carry a stick with you while going for a walk at night or in the morning.
If there are dogs outside, do not leave children alone in the street
If dogs bark while driving a two-wheeler, do not drive fast, but drive slowly, etc.
Reasons for dog bite:-
When the dog is hungry
While protecting yourself or your puppies
Misunderstanding the person going or feeling threatened
If the stray dog has gone mad or is hurt
When provoked etc.
Who is responsible for stray dog bites?
If you look at it legally, it is illegal to remove dogs from the streets. Also, you cannot run dogs off the street, because when a dog is on the street, the law gives it the right to remain there until it is adopted. At the same time, there has been a ban on killing stray dogs in India since 2001. Earlier the Mumbai High Court had allowed the municipality to kill "nuisance" dogs, but the decision was later suspended by the Supreme Court.
If someone feeds stray dogs, it is not legally wrong. At the same time, if a person dies after being bitten by a stray dog, it is not visible who will be responsible for it. But it cannot be denied that the attitude of the Municipal Corporation, animal welfare organizations, and civil society groups has been indifferent and neglectful.
