Metro has made our commute very convenient. If we look at the metro journey, then it is a different experience in itself. Some metro stations are not only visited by people to travel but also for sightseeing. Now just look at the Pride station of Noida Metro. This station is very different in appearance where your mind will be happy as soon as you go.

Pride Station: Noida Sector 50

Sector 50 station has been renamed Pride Station by Noida Metro Rail Corporation. The station is dedicated to the transgender community and aims to spread awareness about various issues related to them.

Only transgender work at the station

All the workers working at Noida Sector 50 station are transgender. From booking tickets to the housekeeping staff, several functions at the station are handled by transgender workers. Let us tell you that according to the 2011 census, there are 4.9 lakh trans genders in India, out of which about 35,000 are living in NCR.

  • Keeping more and more transgender workers at this station is to bring awareness about them in society. Along with this, the employment problem of the transgender community has also been solved to a great extent by this step.
  • The Noida Metro station is painted in different colours. Along with this, different types of art have been done on the walls inside the station.

Such a station has also opened in Kerala

Before NMRC's Pride station, in 2017, Kochi Metro Rail Limited in Kerala had also employed 23 transgenders in different positions.
