India
Of course, keeping in view the western culture in India, New Year is celebrated on 31st January. But the Hindu New Year does not start on January 1 but on the Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, which mostly falls in April. China
Moon-based calendar is considered in China. Here it is matched with the Sun-based calendar every three years. According to this, their new year falls between 20 January to 20 February. Along with China, Vietnam, South Korea and Mongolia also celebrate New Year according to the lunar calendar.

Thailand
