NASA discovered new planets like Earth

NASA New Planet: Recently, with the help of NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), NASA scientists have discovered a new Earth-sized planet. Which has been named TOI 700 e (TOI 700 e).

'TOI 700 e' orbits within the habitable zone of its stars. Scientists also claim that there may be liquid water on the surface of this planet. This new planet (TOI 700 e) is 95% similar to our Earth in size and may be rocky.

The details of this newly discovered planet were presented at the 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle, which was accepted by The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

NASA astronomers had earlier discovered three planets in this system, known as TOI 700 b, c, and d. According to scientists, Planet D also revolves around the habitable zone.

NASA scientists, with the help of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, needed another additional year to discover 'TOI 700 e', after which this planet like Earth was discovered.

Planet e is estimated to be 10% smaller than Planet d through additional TESS observations.

Emily Gilbert, a postdoctoral fellow at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, told that it is one of many, small and habitable zone planet systems.

The details of the newly discovered planet were presented by Emily Gilbert on behalf of her team at the 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle.

TOI 700 e is a small, cool M dwarf star located approximately 100 light-years away in the southern constellation Dorado. TOI 700 b is about 90% the size of Earth and orbits the star every 10 days.

What is a Habitable Zone?

Scientific optimists define the habitable zone as the range of distances from a star where liquid surface water may have existed at some point in the planet's history. This area is spread on both sides of the habitable zone.
