As such, we all face many types of hair problems in our daily routines. But the problem we fear the most is lice. Sometimes there is a lot of itching on the scalp and we are very upset. In such a situation, when we comb the hair, it is known that there are lice in the hair. The very presence of lice in the scalp triggers a strange panic.

Usually, it is not understood what to do to deal with them. In such a situation, we can start trying home remedies from market medicines. At the same time, people start giving their different opinions. When we hear about lice from different people, we start believing many myths related to it. So, today in this article, we are telling you about some such myths and their truth related to lice-

Myth 1- Head lice are caused by dirt

Truth- For a long time, people have believed that if there is dirt in the head, then the chances of getting lice to increase manifold. However, this is not true. The presence of lice is not directly related to the cleanliness or dirtiness of the scalp. Usually, it is caused by head-to-head contact with an infected person. In some cases, sharing of clothes or belongings of an infected person can also lead to the problem of lice.

Myth 2- Head lice carry diseases and viruses

Truth- This is also completely a myth. Many times people feel that if they have lice, then they will come in contact with many diseases or viruses. Even though this is not true. Head lice can make you itchy, but they are not harmful. Not only this, head louse bites can result in red sores on the head if not treated immediately. However, they will get better after a few days of treatment. But still, lice should be treated on time, because they lay more eggs, so you should treat them before they grow too much.

Myth 3- Head lice can spread by jumping

Fact: Some people believe that head lice can jump and spread everywhere while there is no truth in this either. Grasshoppers and crickets can jump, but the head lice cannot. Head lice are tiny parasitic insects with six tiny claws that crawl around their surroundings. They can only be spread through head-to-head contact or direct contact with an item of clothing. It is not that head lice will jump from one person's head to another person's head. For a head louse to be transmitted from one head to another, you have to come in direct contact with that person's head.

Myth 4- Pets can cause head lice.

Truth- Many people also believe that the reason behind head lice is the pets present in their house. While in fact, it is a myth. Pets and humans are susceptible to a whole host of different types of lice. The types of louse that live in animal fur cannot live on humans. So, if you are blaming your pet for your child getting an itchy scalp or lice, stop doing that now and let them hug their favourite pet.
