Ingredients for making Moong Dal Paratha
Wheat flour- 2 cups
Moong dal- 1 cup
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala- 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida- 1/2 pinch
Cumin- 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
Oil- 4 tbsp
Green Coriander – 3 tbsp
Green chilli – 2 finely chopped
Salt- as per taste
How to make Moong Dal Paratha
To make flavourful Moong Dal Paratha, first clean the Moong Dal and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. After the stipulated time, take out the dal from the water transfer it to the mixer dry it, and grind it coarsely. Now take out the ground lentils in a bowl. After this, sift the flour in a big vessel and add a pinch of salt to it, mix it, and knead a soft elastic dough by adding water little by little. After this, keep the dough covered for 20 minutes to set.
Now put 2 spoons of oil in a pan and heat it. After the oil is hot, add cumin and asafoetida and fry. After a few seconds add turmeric, coriander powder, and green chillies. After this, add ground moong dal, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt as per taste and sauté the mixture on low flame. After the pulses are roasted well, add chopped coriander leaves to it and mix properly. The stuffing for paratha is ready.
Now break the dough into equal-sized balls and keep a non-stick pan on the gas to heat it. Take a ball and roll it into the shape of a puri. After this, put the moong dal stuffing in the middle and close it from all sides and then press with your hands, after that roll the paratha. After the pan is hot, put the Moong Dal Paratha in the pan and cook it. After baking for some time, apply oil on the edges of the paratha and flip the paratha.
Now apply oil on the other side of the paratha and fry the paratha for a minute. Fry the paratha until it becomes golden and crispy from both sides. After this, take out the paratha in a plate. Similarly, prepare Moong Dal Paratha with all the stuffing and balls one by one. Moong dal paratha, full of taste and nutrition, is ready for breakfast.
