Gas connections have been made available in many houses through the Ujjwala scheme. The government also changes the rules related to gas connections from time to time. If you also have gas cylinders in your house, then you must know about the rules related to it.

1. Rule related to the regulator

If the regulator of your cylinder is damaged, then you do not have to worry. You can get the regulator replaced by the agency for free. For this, you just need to have the subscription voucher from the agency. To get the regulator changed, you will have to take the leaking regulator with you to the agency. The numbers of the subscription voucher and the regulator will be mixed and if the numbers of both match, the regulator will be changed. You do not have to pay any fee for this. Let us tell you that the regulator has a lifetime warranty, but if there is a manufacturing problem, the regulator is changed for free and if there is any other problem with the regulator, then you have to pay for it.

2. When can I make an insurance claim?

If any accident happens due to an LPG cylinder in your home or office, you can claim insurance up to 40 lakhs. Every consumer is insured up to Rs 50 lakh from the LPG-related company. You must keep this in mind. The insurance of the cylinder is linked to its expiry. So you should check it too.

If a person dies due to a cylinder explosion, then a claim of up to Rs 50 lakh can be made. The consumer does not have to pay any premium for the insurance. When you take a new gas connection, you get this insurance automatically.

3. Rules related to delivery charge

If you bring the cylinder yourself from the godown, then you can get back 19 rupees and 50 paise from the agency. No agency will refuse to give this amount because this amount is taken from you as a delivery charge. This amount is fixed for the cylinders of all the companies.
