Princess Diana Dress Price Auction: The price of any dress can be thousands or lakhs. The dress we are going to talk about was not worn by a common person. Rather, it was worn by a special face i.e. Prince Diana. That dress has been auctioned and you will be shocked to know the price it fetched. Los Angeles-based Julien's Auctions conducted the auction. The price charged was 11 times more than the base price. That dress of Prince Diana was bid for 1.1 million dollars i.e. 75 lakh rupees.
The dress was designed in 1985
In 1985, Diana wore a black and blue ballerina length dress. That dress was designed by Jacques Ozeri in Florence. A year later, Diana was spotted in the same dress at an event in Vancouver. According to Julien's Auction, the price of the dress was kept between 1 lakh to 1.2 lakh dollars. The auction house says that the previous record was $6 lakh. Oxon House says that they did not expect that the price of the dress would increase by 11 times the base price.
Even the auction house owners were surprised
This special dress consists of a long black velvet bodice embroidered with blue stars and a two-tiered blue organza skirt adorned with a sash and bow. It was sold as part of the four-day "Hollywood Legends" sale by Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). A pink chiffon blouse that Diana wore during her engagement to Prince Charles in 1981 was photographed by Lord Snowdon. sold for $381,000. The blouse, by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, who designed Diana's wedding dress, had an estimate of $80,000 to $100,000.
