Nand Gopal was born in the prison of Mathura. To save him from his uncle Kansa, his father Vasudev secretly left the prison and went to Gokul, where he left him at Yashoda and Nand Baba's house. The night Vasudev Baba was going to Gokul with little Kanhaiya, it rained heavily and the Yamuna river was in full spate. It is said that the water level of Yamuna had risen so much that Kanha's feet could touch it.
When Baba Vasudev reached Gokul with Bal Gopal, Yashoda Maiya was also sleeping in her room that night. On Vasudev ji's request, Nand Baba made Kanhaiya sleep with mother Yashoda on her bed and gave his newborn daughter to Vasudev. This picture is of Mother Yashoda and Kanha ji.
