Utensils for making khichdi
1 cup rice and moong dal (mixed), 5 cups water, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, salt as required, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon asafoetida, 3 tablespoons ghee.

Khichdi recipe
Making Khichdi is quite easy. To make this, first of all, wash and soak moong dal and rice together. Keep it soaked for about 40 minutes.
When it gets properly soaked, heat the ghee in a cooker. When the ghee becomes hot, add cumin, turmeric, and asafoetida to it. When the spices are roasted, add soaked lentils and rice to it. After this, add water after measuring it and add salt at the end.
After mixing the salt properly, close the lid of the cooker and let it whistle for 5-6 whistles. After 6 whistles, turn off the gas keep the cooker aside, and then let the steam escape. After the steam goes out, open the lid of the cooker and then add coriander leaves on top to decorate it. You can serve it with Rahata. Raita is also beneficial for the body in case of stomach upset.
