It is believed that this nature park has been built at the same place where Jatayu breathed his last after informing Lord Rama about the abduction of Mother Sita. Although there are bird statues in many places around the world, the statue of Jatayu located in Jatayu Nature Park has the distinction of being the largest bird statue in the world. Jatayu Nature Park is also known as Jatayu Earth Center or Jatayu Rock. It took about ten years to build it. The Center Park is a park and tourist centre located at Chadayamangalam in Kollam district of Kerala. The width of the Jatayu idol present here is approximately 150 feet, its height is 70 feet and its length is 200 feet. Walking in this park spread over approximately thirty thousand square feet has its own pleasure.
Jatayu Nature Park has mythological importance
Jatayu Nature Park also has its own mythological significance. When there was a war between Jatayu and Ravana, one of Jatayu's wings was cut off. Keeping this in mind, this idol has been prepared and this idol also does not have a wing. This nature park is very beautiful and it is situated at an altitude of about 1200 feet above mean sea level. Therefore, the tourists coming here get to see a different sight.
