When assurance was given to the peacock
The story is that when Lord Vishnu incarnated as Shri Ram in Treta Yuga and when Shri Ram along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman went into exile for 14 years. Then Ravana abducted Sita in the forest. Then Ram and Lakshman wandered through the forests searching for Sita and asking everyone about Sita's address, and whether they had seen Sita anywhere. Then a peacock said, Lord, I can tell you the way to where Ravana has taken Sita Mata, but I will go through the sky and you will go on foot.
But you can lose your way, so I will go by dropping one of my feathers so that you do not lose your way in this way the peacock showed the way to Shri Ram but in the end, he died because the peacock feathers fell on their own in a specific season. If the feathers fall intentionally like this, it dies. Shri Ram told the peacock that he could not repay his favor in this life but in his next birth he would wear the feather in his crown in his honor and in this way, Vishnu was born in the form of Shri Krishna and wore it in his crown. Wore a peacock feather.
Sri Krishna had Kalsarp Yoga
According to astrological belief, there was Kalsarpa Yoga in the horoscope of Lord Shri Krishna. Peacocks and snakes have enmity. This is the reason why it is advised to keep peacock feathers with you in Kalsarp Yoga. Lord Krishna always used to keep peacock feathers with him to reduce the effect of Kalsarp Dosh.
Peacock is the symbol of celibacy
There is a popular story behind Shri Krishna wearing peacock feathers that the peacock is the only bird that remains celibate throughout its life. It is said that the female peacock conceives by drinking the tears of the male peacock. Thus Shri Krishna adorns the feather of such a holy bird on his forehead.
