As a general rule, the cooker should be filled only to 3/4th of its capacity. If this is not done, the vent of the pressure cooker may get clogged. Due to lack of steam, the cooker may explode.
If very little or no liquid is used for cooking, there is a risk of the pressure cooker bursting due to pressure. While cooking, water should be used as per the advice given.
For example, one cup of rice should be cooked with one and a half cups of water, unless your pressure cooker manual states otherwise. Using too much oil while cooking in the cooker also poses a risk of it bursting.
After removing the cooker from the gas stove, hot steam remains inside it, due to which there is a lot of pressure in it. In such a situation, even if you open it with force, there is a risk of it bursting. The correct way is to leave the cooker for some time after removing it from the gas and open it after the gases come out.
Cleaning of the cooker should also be taken care of. If its whistle or vent pipe gets clogged with dirt, it can turn it into a bomb. Because steam does not come out properly from the cooker. Due to this, the pressure may cause the cooker to burst.

Keep these things in mind
Close the lid tightly
Avoid using very old cookers
There should be no wear and tear on the cooker, rubber, or whistle.
Avoid buying local brands or cheap cookers.
Being under or overweight the pressure regulator valve can also be fatal.
Cooking puffed foods like cake, and corn using a whistle can also be dangerous.
