Uterine cancer risk
The women who have filed cases against the companies allege that they have developed uterine cancer due to the use of their Permanent Hair Straightening products. This matter started in October last year. In October of the year 2022, America's 'National Institute of Health' did research. In this research, it was found that cancer of the uterus has been seen in women using Permanent Hair Straightening products. This research was being done to find a link between the chemical used in the product and breast cancer. But during the study, it was found that cancer of the uterus is increasing due to these chemicals. Uterine cancer is very rare in America. Uterine cancer is found in only 3 percent of women here. That's why the scientists who studied reached this conclusion.
In this research, 33 thousand 497 American women aged 35 to 74 were included. During the research, the health of women was followed for about 11 years. During this period cancer cases were reported in these 378 women. It has been observed in the research that women usually have a 1.64 percent chance of getting cancer by the age of 70 years. But the risk of cancer was seen to increase by 4.05 percent in women using chemical products.
Chemicals used in Permanent Hair Straightening products are dangerous, this was found in the study. Since then, complaints were made about Permanent Hair Straightening products of L'Oreal, Godrej, and Dabur International. A hearing is to be held on this in the American Chicago court.
