On the day of Hartalika Teej, a woman observes a Nirjala fast. The fast ends the next day and not eating anything for the whole day can cause acidity. Let us tell you such recipes that will not cause you acidity.

Only those who fast know how hard their body works throughout the day. The day you fast, your body burns fat for energy and helps keep you energetic throughout the day. The festival of Hartalika Teej is coming on 7 September. In such a situation, women will keep a Nirjala fast.

This fast is completed only after performing puja the next day. You may feel weak the next day. Not eating or drinking anything for the whole day can cause acidity. To avoid acidity, we have brought oil-free recipes for you, which will be rich in protein and will be good for health along with taste.

Stuffed Puri without oil

Required Materials:

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped spinach
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water for kneading

Method of making stuffed puri-

  • Mix the flour with salt in a bowl. After this, add water to it and knead a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • In a bowl, add boiled and mashed potatoes, grated carrots, chopped spinach, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. Mix it well and keep it aside.
  • Knead the dough again for a while and make balls. Now roll them and fill them with the potato and vegetable mixture and roll them to the size of a puri.
  • Prepare all the puris in the same manner by rolling them.
  • Now put 2 puris in the air fryer and fry them. You can also cook it on a non-stick pan on medium flame.
  • Serve the stuffed puri with boondi or cucumber raita .

Beans and Sprout Salad

Required Materials:

  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 1 cup cooked kidney beans
  • 1 cup cooked black beans
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to make salad-

  • For this, boil the rajma and chickpeas. Add salt to the water while boiling. This will also help in settling the salty taste in the beans and chickpeas.
  • Now add finely chopped cucumber, tomato, onion and coriander to chickpeas and kidney beans in a large bowl and mix.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, cumin powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.
  • Keep it in the fridge for some time and then eat this protein-rich salad for brunch or before lunch.

Kofta Pulao

Required Materials:

To make kofta-

  • 1 cup grated paneer
  • 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

To make the pulao:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2-3 green cardamoms
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 cups water

Method of preparation-

  • In a mixing bowl, mix grated paneer, mashed potatoes, onion, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. After mixing all the ingredients, make medium sized balls of them.
  • Heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add the balls and fry them.
  • After this, heat some ghee in a large vessel. Add bay leaves, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and cumin seeds. Let the cumin seeds crackle.
  • Add chopped onions and cook till golden brown. Strain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Roast the rice well so that it absorbs the aroma of the whole spices.
  • Add water, salt and garam masala to the rice. Let it boil, then reduce the heat. Cover it and cook. Add the roasted koftas to the cooked pulao and mix. Cook it for 2-3 minutes more on low flame.
  • Kofta Pulao is ready. Eat it with Moong Dal Papad and Red Chilli Pickle.

Moong Dal Chaat

Required material-

  • 1 cup moong dal, soaked for 2 hours
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Sev or pomegranate seeds for garnish

Method of making chaat-

  • Drain the soaked moong dal and cook it in boiling water for 5-7 minutes. When the dal becomes soft, turn off the flame, strain it and let it cool.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked moong dal, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, coriander leaves and green chillies.
  • Add chaat masala and salt to the mixture and mix. After this, squeeze lemon juice over it and mix well.
  • Garnish with sev or pomegranate seeds for a crunchy taste. Serve chaat as a healthy and delicious snack or appetizer.

Eating healthy does not mean eating tasteless or boring food. These recipes will be full of taste as well as flavour. The spicy spices added to them will also boost your mood.
