Google has made an important change that will affect all of us. Google has announced that you will no longer need a password to log into your account. Yes, you read it right. Google has introduced a new feature called Google Passkeys, which will be a default part of the sign-in process. Google has started informing users about the Passkeys feature through notifications.

What is Passkey?

Compared to passwords, Passkeys provide greater security. Passkey helps users log into their accounts through biometric sensors (facial recognition/fingerprint), patterns, and PINs. This means that Google Passkeys will play an important role in preventing hacking.

Earlier, remembering the passwords of different accounts was a hassle for many people. Some people will forget their password. However, the advent of the Passkeys feature may eliminate the inconvenience of remembering passwords. The password feature is not going away. Google will leave it up to you whether you want to use the Passkeys feature or continue using passwords.

Getting positive feedback

Google has shared that users are giving positive feedback about the Passkeys feature. This is why Google is making the Passkeys feature the default for Google Accounts. In a blog post, Google reported that 64% of users find the Passkeys feature easier to use than passwords.

How to create Google Passkeys

To set up Google Passkeys for your Google Account, visit g.co/passkeys. Once you get there, you will see the Get Passkeys option. Click on this option and follow the instructions on the screen. You can use Passkeys for Google apps like YouTube, Search, Maps, etc.
