Navratri festival has special significance in the Hindu religion. 9 days of Navratri are considered very sacred. On this day, 9 different forms of the Goddess are worshiped and blessings of the Goddess are sought. In cities, night vigil is done by playing Raas-Garba, whereas in villages there is a tradition of noise and night vigil.
Navratri is celebrated four times a year in the Hindu religion. Among these, Navratri falling in the month of Ashwin is known as Sharadiya Navratri. This Navratri has special significance.
Shardiya Navratri starts from Pratipada of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. During the 9 days of Navratri, nine forms of Goddess Adishakti - Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri are worshipped. It is believed that during the nine days of Navratri, the Goddess revolves around the earth and fulfills the wishes of her devotees by removing their troubles. That is why it is said that the tradition of invoking the Goddess started during these days.

When is Navratri this year?
Pratipada of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin will start on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 PM and end on Sunday, October 15 at 12:32 AM. Considering the sunrise position, Shardiya Navratri will start on Sunday, October 15. Ghatasthanam will be performed on this day.
Auspicious time of Ghatasthapana:
The auspicious time of Ghatasthapana is from 11:44 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on 15th October. This year only 46 minutes i.e. half an hour will be available for installation. This will have to be done during this time.

How to install Ghatasthapana?
On the first day of Shardiya Navratri, wake up in the morning, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. Then clean the temple and sprinkle Ganga water.
After this, spread a red cloth and keep some rice on it. Then barley or wheat should be sown in an earthen pot.
A pitcher filled with water should be placed on top of this pitcher. Mango or Ashoka leaves should be kept around the Kalash and Swastika should be made.
Then add whole betel nut, coin, and Akshat in it.
Wrap a cloth around the coconut and tie it. While placing this coconut on the Kalash, one should remember Mother Jagadamba. After this, the Kalash should be worshiped by lighting a lamp.
