It has been told in the scriptures that Ganges water should not be kept at the place of sleep, in the kitchen, or at the place of eating. Also, keeping it in a dark place should be avoided. By doing this, the purity starts to end.

According to Vastu Shastra, Gangajal should always be kept in a holy place i.e. temple, by doing this the purity of the water is maintained and it does not make the water impure.

Gangajal should never be touched with dirty hands. By doing this, negative energy expands in the house. That's why to take special care of cleanliness while touching the Ganges.

One should not touch the water of the Ganga even by mistake during a solar eclipse or lunar eclipse. Apart from this, Ganga water should be used to purify the house after the eclipse.

It has been told in the Vedic Panchang that Dashami Tithi of Jyestha Shukla Paksha will start from 11.49 pm on May 29 and will end on May 30 at 01.07 pm. The day for the Ganga Dussehra festival is decided according to Udaya Tithi, in this case, this festival will be celebrated on Tuesday, 30 May 2023.
