The doors of the temple open only on the full moon day of Vaishakh month. On this day the priests open the doors of the temple by tying a bandage over their eyes and mouth. Devotees come from far and wide to have the darshan of the Goddess. Vishnu Sahasranama and Bhagwati Chandika are recited after opening the doors of the temple.

With his jewels in the Nagraj temple
The local people believe that Nagraj resides in the temple with his gem, which is not available to the common people. Even the priests are not afraid to see the form of Nagraj, so they worship blindfolded. Not only this, but they also tie a bandage on their mouth so that the smell of their mouth does not reach the deity and the poisonous smell of Nagraj does not reach the nose of the priest.

If you are traveling from Delhi, the distance to Chamoli is approximately 465 km. The bus will take you to Chamoli via Rishikesh. At the same time, after traveling by air from Delhi to Pantnagar Airport, Chamoli can be reached by bus or taxi. After reaching Haridwar or Rishikesh railway station by train, you have to travel by bus. Latu Devta Temple is 27 km from Chamoli. You can reach here through local temples.
