The trend of E-SIM or Electronic SIM is increasing now. Companies like Samsung, Google, and Apple are offering their phones and smartwatches with e-SIM support. E-SIM is a software-based SIM that cannot be used physically.

Earlier the e-SIM had to be activated again after getting a new phone, but now it is not so. E-SIM can now be easily transferred from one phone to another, although this facility is currently available only in iPhones.

Now Google is working on a new feature, after which the e-SIM can be easily transferred to Android phones as well. According to the report, Google is working on the QR code-based eSIM transfer feature i.e. after the new feature, the e-SIM can be transferred to another phone by scanning the QR code.

After the new update, a QR code prompt will appear for E-SIM transfer while setting up a new Android phone. Last month Google released beta 4 of Android 1 which has an auto confirm unlock feature.

The feature of QR code-based E-SIM transfer can come with the final version of Android 14. Talking about other features of Android 14, the sliders for ring volume and notification volume are going to be completely different.
