History of Sanwer Temple

This temple has been linked to the Ram-Ravana war and Ahiravan. The history of the temple is quite old. It is believed that once during the Ram-Ravana war, Ravana's brother Ahiravan disguised himself and entered into Shri Ram's army during the war.

It was from here that Ahiravana had made Lord Ram and Brother Lakshman unconscious and taken them to the underworld. When Bajrangbali came to know about this, he understood that Ahiravana must have taken him to the underworld. He immediately reached the underworld killed Ahiravana and brought back Lord Ram and Lakshmanji.

The people living here believe that Saver is the same place where Bajrangbali went to the underworld. At that time Bajrangbali's feet were towards the sky and his head was towards the ground.

Due to this, the reverse form of Hanuman ji is worshipped here. For this reason, people from all over the world come here to have darshan of Bajrangbali.
