The auspicious time for Diwali puja is from 5:40 pm to 7:36 pm on 12th November. Whereas Mahanishith Kaal Muhurat for Lakshmi Puja is from 11:39 pm to 12:31 midnight. Performing Lakshmi puja in this auspicious time will bring immense happiness and prosperity in life.

Diwali 2023 Puja Vidhi (Diwali Puja Vidhi 2023)
Mainly Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshiped on Diwali. In such a situation, for worship, first of all clean the place of worship and spread a red or yellow cloth on a platform. Then place a handful of grains on this post in the middle. Place the urn in the middle of the grain. After this, fill the Kalash with water and add a betel nut, a marigold flower, a coin and some rice grains. Place 5 mango leaves in a circular shape on the Kalash. Place the idol of Goddess Lakshmi in the middle and the idol of Lord Ganesha on the right side of the Kalash. Now make a small mountain of rice grains in a small plate, make a lotus flower with turmeric, add some coins, and place it in front of the idol. After this, keep your business/account books and other money/business-related items in front of the idol. Now apply tilak to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha and light the lamp.

Along with this, apply Tilak on the Kalash also. After this, offer flowers to Lord Ganesha and Lakshmi and keep some flowers in your palm for worship. Close your eyes and recite the Diwali puja mantra. Offer the flower kept in the palm to Lord Ganesha and Lakshmi. Take the idol of Goddess Lakshmi and bathe it with water and then bathe it with Panchamrit. Bathe the idol with water again, wipe it with a clean cloth, and put it back. Put turmeric, kumkum, and rice on the idol. Put the garland around the neck of the goddess and light incense sticks. Then offer coconut, betel nut and betel leaf to the mother. Place some flowers and coins in front of the idol of the goddess. Take a lamp in a plate, ring the puja bell, and perform the aarti of Goddess Lakshmi.

What to do on Diwali?
On the day of Diwali, after taking a bath in the morning, wear clean and beautiful clothes.
Cook dishes and decorate the house during the day. Take blessings from your elders.
Take bath again before worship in the evening.
After this, worship Lakshmi-Ganesh as per the rituals.
Business establishments and Gaddi should also be worshiped ritually.
Light a lamp at the main entrance of the house.

What not to do on Diwali?
On the day of Diwali, do not leave dirt at the entrance of the house or anywhere inside the house.
On this day, do not return any poor or needy person empty-handed from the door.
Do not gamble, avoid drinking alcohol and consuming non-vegetarian food on Diwali.
Do not keep such an idol of Lord Ganesha whose trunk is on the right side.
Do not give gifts made of leather, sharp objects and crackers to anyone.
Do not give or take loan on the day of Diwali.
Do not leave the place of worship empty overnight. Add enough ghee or oil in it that it keeps burning the whole night.
