Kala Chana Curry Recipe: Kala Chana curry is very tasty to eat and it is liked by people of almost every age. Not only this, its combination goes perfectly with roti, paratha, puri, or rice. So let's know about the recipe for making black gram curry.

Ingredients for making black gram curry
1 big cup black gram soaked in water overnight, 2 medium-sized onions finely chopped, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp Cumin powder, ½ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp amchoor powder, a pinch of asafoetida, 2 cups tomato puree, 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, 2 green chilies chopped, 1 tsp desi ghee, 1 tsp kasoori methi, Take 3 tsp oil, 1 bay leaf, 1-inch piece of cinnamon, 1 black cardamom, 1-star anise, 4 cloves, 2 green cardamom, 1 tsp cumin, salt as per taste and water as required.



Black gram curry recipe
First of all, take soaked grams, wash them well, and put them in the cooker, add ½ tsp salt and 3 cups of water and pressure cook till 6 whistles. Then put a pan on the gas and put oil in it and heat it. Then add cumin, cinnamon, black cardamom, star anise, cloves, green cardamom, bay leaf, and green chili in the oil and fry for a minute. Now add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and fry till the onion turns golden brown. Then add asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and amchur powder, and fry all the spices on low flame until it leaves oil. Then add tomato puree and salt to the spices and fry for some more time.

Now take out the chickpeas from the cooker and do not throw away its water but keep it aside. Now take half a cup of boiled gram and put it in the pan and mash it well in the spices and let it cook for a minute or two. After this, put the remaining gram in the pan and mix it well. Now, keeping in mind the thickness of the gravy of your choice, add a gram of water to it and cover and cook it on low flame for ten minutes. Lastly, add green coriander, desi ghee, kasoori methi, and garam masala and cook for one more minute, then turn off the gas. Your hot black gram curry is ready. You can serve it with roti, paratha, or rice.
