Dengue is being diagnosed in 15-20 patients daily in OPD. Some patients need to be admitted to the hospital but the number of such cases is less.

Doctors say it is very important for all people to follow some precautionary measures to avoid dengue.

1. Prevent mosquitoes from breeding
Health experts say this time the effect of monsoon has been seen more in Delhi, due to which waterlogging has occurred in many places. Stagnant and clean water is most suitable for the breeding of dengue mosquitoes. Apart from this, mosquitoes can breed in plastic containers, air coolers, flower pots, tires, and any empty items where water can accumulate.

To prevent mosquitoes from breeding, keep changing the water in coolers and pots. Do not let water accumulate anywhere around the houses. Spray medicines to drive away mosquitoes.

2. Protect yourself from mosquitoes even inside the houses
It is important to take measures to avoid mosquito bites even inside the houses. For this, mosquito repellent coils, sprays, etc. can be used carefully. However, avoid going into the room for some time after using them. Using a mosquito net while sleeping at night is considered the best way.

Wear full-sleeved clothes
Mosquitoes usually bite on exposed skin. On the other hand, dengue mosquitoes bite more during the day. Therefore, to avoid dengue during these days, wear clothes that completely cover the hands and feet. This will reduce the chances of mosquito bites. To protect against mosquitoes, creams can also be used on medical advice to apply to the skin.

Measures to prevent mosquitoes from entering the house

There are more mosquitoes around open spaces, which increases the risk of dengue. Keeping windows and doors closed can prevent mosquitoes from entering the room. Generally, keep windows and doors closed in the evening. By adopting methods to prevent mosquitoes from breeding and to prevent mosquito bites, you can prevent many diseases like dengue-malaria.
