Chief Minister Stalin approves a four percent increase in State Dearness Allowance
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has approved a four percent increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) of state government employees. An official release said on Wednesday that the move would cost the exchequer an additional Rs 2,366.82 crore annually and would benefit 16 lakh government employees, teachers, pensioners, and family pensioners.
The increase in dearness allowance will come into effect from April 1, 2023.
This increase will be applicable from the beginning of the current financial year i.e. April 1, 2023. DA has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. Apart from this, whenever the central government announces an increase in DA in the future, the state government will also increase the DA.
