There is discussion all over the world about the side effects of the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine. In the last week of April, the vaccine manufacturer admitted in a British court that the vaccines may cause a rare risk of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS). Due to TTS, there is a risk of problems like blood clots and low platelet count in the blood. Many types of fears are being seen among the people who have taken AstraZeneca vaccine Covishield in India regarding these side effects. Although health experts have clarified that these side effects are quite rare, there is no need to fear them. This type of risk may occur in 6-10 people out of 10 lakh.

A group of doctors on Thursday expressed deep concern over the safety of the Covishield vaccine amid reports of side effects of the vaccine. The team of doctors has demanded the government review the scientific facts behind all COVID-19 vaccines and re-audit its commercialization.

Serum Institute of India (SII), AstraZeneca's partner to provide the Covishield vaccine in India, said that it stopped the production of the vaccine in December 2021 itself. Not only this, the company has also said that we had disclosed the side effects caused by the vaccines in 2021 itself.

Had already warned about the side effects of vaccines
An SII spokesperson said that we had warned about all the side effects including TTS caused by the vaccine in the packaging insert in 2021 itself. The production of Covishield vaccine has also been stopped since 2021.

In media reports, an AstraZeneca spokesperson said that since many types of COVID-19 vaccines were developed during the Corona epidemic, it has also been updated with the mutations in the virus. Due to the arrival of new vaccines in the market, the demand for old vaccines has declined, due to which they are no longer being manufactured or supplied.
