Covid-19 has been a serious health risk globally. This disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been seen to affect health in many ways. Even though the cases of infection in the country are very low these days, health experts say that its risks should not be ignored. In many countries, a large number of deaths of infected people are still being reported every week, which makes it clear that Corona is not gone yet.
According to recent reports, cases of corona have been confirmed in three people in Madhya Pradesh. Health experts say that all people should continue to follow the COVID-19 COVID-19-appropriate behavior.
On Friday, the government informed the Parliament that two strains are responsible for the increase in Covid cases in the country, although they are not considered to be very dangerous.
Government gave information
Union Health Minister JP Nadda said on Friday that KP.1 and KP.2 are the two major variants due to which the risk of infection is being seen in the country. According to the data shared by ICMR, both these sub-variants are a form of Omicron variant JN1.
According to the data given in the Lok Sabha, till August 5, 824 cases of the Kovid-19 KP mutant strain were reported. Maharashtra had the highest number of 417 cases, followed by West Bengal with 157 and Uttarakhand with 64 cases.
The risk of serious cases reduced
According to the report, due to these variants, cases of infection have increased in some places, but till now there has been no risk of hospitalization or severity of the disease. According to the data released by the government, it is a highly infectious variant that causes symptoms like fever, cold, cough, sore throat, body ache, and fatigue, which are usually not serious. The government has also taken necessary steps to monitor the spread of the new strain.
The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said that the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) is monitoring it, which is a major project under the National Health Mission. It has been implemented in all states and union territories.
The risk of death remains in many countries
Regarding the global threat of corona, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in a report released earlier this month that about 1,700 people are dying every week worldwide due to infection. The risk of corona has not yet been reduced.
Health experts have said that another booster vaccine should be given to further strengthen the immune system of people in places where cases of infection are being reported continuously. Especially people above the age of 65 can be protected against infection from new variants by giving them another vaccine.
Also appealed to increase the rate of vaccination
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the decline in vaccination coverage can be a major reason for the ongoing threat of corona in many countries.
Cases of new variants of COVID-19 are constantly coming to the fore. With every new mutation, the ability of this virus to escape immunity and its rate of infection also increases. This ability of new variants can be the reason for the increase in the risks of corona and cases of infection. Another vaccine can help protect against the risks caused by new variants.
