If booking is done through a counter ticket then keep these rules in mind

If you are booking a ticket through a counter ticket and your ticket is waiting then you can travel only by mail or express trains.

Do not travel on these trains

If you cannot travel by premium train like Rajdhani or Shatabdi with a waiting ticket booked from the counter . During this time, you can cancel your ticket and get a refund. Tickets can be cancelled 4 hours before the train departs from the station.

Don't forget your ticket while travelling by train

If you have booked a ticket for going anywhere from the counter, then let us tell you that you must have the ticket. Travel only with the ticket otherwise you may be fined.

Don't worry about waiting for tickets

If the ticket booked from the counter is waiting, then do not worry. You can travel with this ticket.

Do this if you lose the counter ticket

If your ticket is lost then you do not need to worry. For this, you will have to inform us about the loss of the ticket before the chart is prepared. On giving information, you will have to pay a fine of Rs 50 for the sleeper class and Rs 100 for AC class. However, if you have given information about the loss of a ticket after the chart has been prepared, then you will have to pay a 50 percent fine.

Cancel the waiting ticket in this way

If for some reason you want to cancel the counter ticket, then let us tell you that you go to https://www.operations.irctc.co.in/ctcan/SystemTktCanLogin.jsf and click on the link. After clicking the link, you will have to enter your user name and PNR number here.

Along with this, the train number will have to be submitted by entering the capture code. After submission, the OTP code will come to your mobile number. After entering this code, tap on the submit option. After entering the OTP, complete details of PNR will be visible on the mobile screen. After seeing this detail, you can cancel the booked ticket by clicking on Cancel Ticket.

You will get a refund in this way

To cancel a confirmed ticket, you have to cancel the ticket 4 hours before the travelling time. Otherwise ticket refund will not be given. After cancelling the ticket, you will get the ticket refund from the railway station. You must have the original ticket while availing the refund.
