Oral Health Day is celebrated every year on 20 March. The purpose of celebrating this day is to make people aware of oral health and oral hygiene. Nowadays oral health has become a common problem. People are motivated to maintain the cleanliness of their mouth, strength, and shine of teeth. Maintaining the strength and shine of teeth is not a difficult task, but due to some mistakes made knowingly or unknowingly, teeth become weak and yellowness starts appearing in the teeth. Here we are talking about such bad habits, which if left, will make your teeth strong and shiny.

The wrong way to brush
Most people feel that rubbing the brush vigorously on the teeth cleans the teeth better. But brushing vigorously is not beneficial but causes harm to the teeth. Improper brushing can damage enamel, increase susceptibility to cavities, and lead to gum problems. Brushing vigorously and consuming cold and hot things can increase sensitivity. It is also very important to brush teeth twice a day.

Amount of sugar
Sugar can harm the health of teeth. Its consumption increases the acid-producing bacteria in the mouth. Sticky sweets like jelly candy are harmful to teeth. According to a report, sour candy contains many types of acids that cause tooth decay and start destroying the upper layer of the teeth.

Sleeping without rinsing
Some people have the habit of drinking tea or coffee at bedtime. Apart from this, they sleep after drinking ice cream, sweets, or milk at night. But not rinsing your mouth after eating drinking and sleeping like that can be harmful to your teeth. Germs spread in the mouth, weakening the teeth and causing a bad smell. Therefore, brush or rinse your mouth before sleeping at night. Do not eat anything after brushing.

Biting nails
When nervous, people have a habit of biting their nails. This exposes your mouth to bacteria. These bacteria also harm your teeth. Therefore, reduce the habit of nail-biting so that you can maintain better oral health.

Use of teeth as tools
Often we use our teeth as tools, like opening bottles, tearing packets, removing price tags, etc. This increases the possibility of injury to teeth and jaw. To maintain dental health, use bottle openers and scissors, not teeth.
