Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the interim budget in Parliament. There has been no change of any kind in income tax. Apart from this, there has been no major announcement for the tech and auto sectors in this budget. In his speech, the Finance Minister took forward the slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, and Jai Vigyan and gave a new slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.

He said that technology is helping a lot in agriculture and business and the government is committed to cooperating in this. Nirmala Sitharaman has announced to opening of the treasury for Deep Tech startups.

He said that Rs 1 lakh crore will be given to deep tech startups or tech startups which will be given either interest-free or at a very low interest rate. He said that with the help of deep tech, India will help in becoming self-reliant in the defense sector. Let us try to understand what is this deep tech.

What did the Finance Minister say?
The Finance Minister said this will be a golden era for our technology-savvy youth. A fund of Rs 1 lakh crore will be set up. Apart from this, Deep Tech startups will get fifty-year interest-free loans. The fund will provide long-term financing or refinancing with long tenures and low or zero interest rates. This will encourage the private sector to significantly increase research and innovation in sunrise domain areas. We need programs that combine the strengths of our youth and technology. Help will be provided for deep tech in the defense sector also.

What is Deep Tech Technology?
You can call Deep Tech deep technology in very simple language. Deep tech startups work on very complex technology. Deep Tech is also called advanced technology. Deep tech includes areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, blockchain, robotics, and biotechnology.

Deep tech involves exclusive innovation. Most of the deep tech startups work on machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). Blockchain, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Computer Imaging, etc. can be included in Deep Tech.

The main areas in which deep tech startups are working include artificial intelligence (AI), life sciences, agriculture, aerospace, chemistry, industry, and clean energy. Deep tech is also used in monitoring crops.

Apart from this, it is also used for the care of a patient suffering from any incurable disease. AI drones, AI robots are also examples of deep tech. According to a report, there are more than 3,000 deep-tech startups in India.
