To stay healthy, it is important to take care of bone health. But often when it comes to health, we do not pay attention to bone health. This mistake makes us prematurely old and weak. Knowingly or unknowingly we make such mistakes which affect our bone health. This is the reason why today people suffer from joint pain even at a young age. Let us know about those bad habits due to which bones become hollow.

These habits of yours harm your bone health

  • Sunlight is very important for bone health. It promotes Vitamin D. Vitamin D protects our bones and helps the body absorb calcium. If you do not take an adequate amount of sunlight then there is a deficiency of Vitamin D and thus bones become weak.
  • If you live a sedentary life and reduce body movement, your bones may become weak. The more you move your bones, the stronger they will become. Exercising not only strengthens your muscles but also strengthens your bones. If you want to strengthen your bones then walk, run and exercise throughout the day.
  • Smoking cigarettes is not only harmful to your lungs, but it is also harmful to your bones. Smoking can increase the risk of osteoporosis. Smoking affects the activity of osteoblasts, the cells that form new bone, resulting in the weakening of the bone.

  • It is important to maintain a healthy body weight but some people lose more weight than necessary. Doing this also affects the bones. A body mass index of less than 18.5 may increase the risk of osteoporosis.
  • Not consuming calcium-rich foods, not getting enough sleep and consuming alcohol also affect bone density. All this affects the absorption of calcium.
