Rules for good digestion according to Ayurveda

  • In Ayurveda, a lot of emphasis has been laid on food combinations, i.e. which food items should be eaten together and which should not.
  • Where eating some food items together can be beneficial for health. At the same time, if you eat two things of opposite nature by mixing them, it can also harm your health.
  • Different types of food items take different time to digest. Therefore, if you eat two things together that require similar time to digest, digestion will be better.
  • At the same time, if you eat two things by mixing them, which require more or less time than each other to digest, then gas or indigestion may occur.
  • Ayurveda always recommends eating cooked and fresh food.

  • Enzymes are active in cooked food, due to which they are easy to digest.
  • Raw salad is good for health, but if you eat raw salad and cooked food together, it will be difficult to digest.
  • Eat raw salad half an hour before lunch and always keep a gap between raw and cooked food.
  • Apart from this, chew the food thoroughly and eat it.
  • Do not drink water immediately after eating. You can drink some water with food.
  • Drink water about half an hour after eating.
  • Choose food according to the season and body type.
