In a study published in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, a team of researchers has considered the consumption of things containing Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE) as a major risk factor for the risk of diabetes. Cakes, chips, cookies, fried foods, mayonnaise, and ultra-processed foods contain high amounts of AGE. This is the first clinical trial of its kind.
Experts said, we are in a dangerous situation, the pressure on the health sector is increasing due to diabetes, it is very important to control it.
What is AGE?
Health experts said that Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE) are potentially toxic compounds, they are formed when proteins or lipids are glycated. The study found that the consumption of foods containing AGE increases the risk of inflammation in the body, which is considered responsible for diabetes. Experts said that everyone should consume such things as little as possible, especially children like them more. Children are also becoming victims of diabetes.
Things with high glycemic index are also harmful.
Chips, fried chicken, samosas, pakoras, fried foods, cookies, cakes, as well as baked and processed things have a high amount of AGE, their high consumption can increase the risk of diabetes. Apart from this, health experts also advise to avoid consuming things with high glycemic index. These can cause the risk of increasing sugar levels rapidly. Foods whose glycemic index is more than 55 can increase the risk of diabetes.
