The fast of Ahoi Ashtami is observed on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This year Ahoi Ashtami is being celebrated on 24th October. This fast is observed for the happiness, prosperity and health of the children. Women with sons observe fast with the wish of long life of their son and complete their fast by worshiping Ahoi Mata after seeing the stars at night.

Ingredients for making gulgula
2 cups wheat flour
Half cup milk
Three teaspoons sugar
Half teaspoon cardamom powder
Half teaspoon fennel
Ghee or oil for frying
Method of making gulgula
Step 1- To make gulgula, mix wheat flour with sugar and milk well and prepare a batter.
Step 2- Make sure that the batter is neither too thin nor too thick.
Step 3- Mix cardamom powder and fennel well in the flour and sugar batter and keep it for 30 minutes.
Step 4- After half an hour, heat oil in a pan and drop the batter in it like pakodas
Step 5- Fry the round pakoda-shaped gulgula in hot oil.
Your tasty and soft gulgula is ready.
