Taking major action, Apple has deleted three such mobile apps from its App Store which were creating nude photos. According to the report, these apps had the support of Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI with the help of which any photo could be made nude. According to a report by 404 Media, advertisements for these apps were seen on Instagram.
The report says that Apple has received information about these apps from the Meta Ad Library which is public i.e. you can also see the Meta Ad Library. This shows that these apps were present on Apple's App Store but it was not aware of it.
These ads have now been removed from Instagram. Two of the three app ads were for websites. Keywords like face swap and undress have been used with these apps. These apps claimed that they could remove clothes from any photo.
This is not the first time that action has been taken against such apps. Earlier in the year 2022 also, Apple and Google had deleted many such apps from their app stores. The number of deepfake AI apps has increased significantly in the last two years. Such apps are being used most in schools and colleges.
