Actually, due to their absence, many of your works can get stuck and if you have these documents then you can easily get any of your government and non-government work done. In such a situation, the importance of these documents can be understood, but have you ever thought that if a person dies, then what should be done with his Aadhaar card and PAN card? If this is the case with you too, then you can know here what the rule says about it. You can learn about this in the next slides...
What does the rule say?
If a person dies, then in such a situation you can deactivate or surrender his PAN card and Aadhaar card. However, before surrendering, you should know more about it.
What can be done with a PAN card?
You have to write a letter to the assessment officer to return the pan card of the deceased person
In this, you have to give the reason for returning the PAN card.
Then you can return the PAN card by giving the necessary information like the name of the deceased person, and PAN number, and attaching the death certificate along with it.
Keep this in mind
If you have a PAN card of a deceased person, do your homework before returning it. This is because the work of a PAN card is related to financial work. That's why it should return only after the work is done.
What to do for an Aadhaar card?
If a person dies, then the Aadhaar card of such a person can neither be deactivated nor there is any provision to return it. In such a situation, if you want that the Aadhaar card of the deceased person is not misused, then you can link the Aadhaar card with the death certificate. This will happen so that no one will be able to misuse this Aadhaar card again.
