In our country, elections are held in some states from time to time. Citizens need their Voter ID Cards in elections like Municipal Body, Assemblies, and Lok Sabha. If you want, you can download and store your Digital Voter ID Card on your smartphone itself. We are telling you how you can download the digital voter ID card by connecting internet on a mobile, tablet, or laptop.

To download a Voter ID, one has to visit the website of the Election Commission https://eci.gov.in/e-epic/.

• Explain that to access the different services of the Election Commission of India, visit the official website https://eci.gov.in/e-epic/. This portal can be used for registration of new voters, update of address in Voter ID, and download of Digital Voter ID. Digital Voter ID Card is also known as e-EPIC and there is an option to download it in PDF format and store it in DigiLocker.
• If you are visiting the website for the first time, you can register on the Election Commission portal with your phone number.
• After registering, click on the download e-Epic option.
• After this enter your EPIC number. Explain that this number is a 10-digit unique ID printed on your voter ID card.
• It is worth noting that to download the digital voter ID card, your phone number must be linked with the voter ID.

The option to link the Voter ID card with the phone number is available on the website of the Election Commission itself.

• To link your phone number with your Voter ID, first, go to the homepage of the Election Commission's portal (https://www.nvsp.in/) and click on the Forms given on the homepage.
• After this click on Form 8 and then choose the option you need in the self or family option.
• Now click on the correction of entries in the existing electoral roll option in the form.
• After this enter the phone number which you want to link with your Voter ID.
• It is to be noted that the portal will take some time to verify your details and link the voter ID with the phone number.
• Once the phone number and Voter ID are linked, you can visit https://eci.gov.in/e-epic/ website.
• After this enter the EPIC number and verify the details.
• Now verify the phone number through OTP and download e-EPIC on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop by clicking on download e-EPIC.
• Explain that you can get a duplicate voter ID card by filling out Form 8 from the website of the Election Commission. This card will be delivered to the address given in your Voter ID.
