Halchhath date
According to the Panchang, the Shashthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month is starting on September 4, 2023, at 04:41 pm. It will end the next day on 5 September 2023 at 03:46 pm. Considering Udaya Tithi, this year Halashashthi is being celebrated on 5 September 2023.
Halchhath puja method
On the day of Halchhath, get up early in the morning take a bath, and take a vow of fasting.
After this, wear clean clothes and bring cow dung.
Then make a pond by painting it with cow dung in a clean place.
Bury the Harchhath made by tying one branch each of strawberry, cardamom, and palash in this pond.
In the end, worship with rituals.
For the puja, offer seven types of grains like wheat, barley, pigeon pea, maize, moong and paddy, after which offer green kriyas and roasted gram with dust.
Also, offer jewelery and a cloth dyed with turmeric.
Then perform Havan with butter made from buffalo milk. Finally, listen to the story of Harchhath.
After the puja, women eat curd and mahua made from buffalo milk on Palash leaves and conclude the fast. By observing this fast the devotee attains wealth, prosperity, etc.
