Crores of people in India have an Aadhaar card. The Aadhaar card is a very important document in today's time. You need to have an Aadhaar card to take advantage of various government schemes. Not only this, an Aadhaar card is also demanded for admission of children in school, joining a new job, and many other places. Much important information about you is recorded on the Aadhaar card. It contains your biometric and demographic details. Many times mistakes are made while making an Aadhaar card. However, UIDAI gives you the option to update your Aadhaar. Many times it is seen that the officer sitting at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra demands more money from you to update the Aadhaar.
The fee for the Aadhaar update has been fixed by UIDAI. If you are updating demographic details on your Aadhaar card, then you will have to pay Rs 50 for this. At the same time, you have to pay Rs 100 to update biometric details.
If the officer sitting at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra is asking you for more money than the fixed fee for updating the Aadhaar card, then you can lodge a complaint against him.
For this, you will have to call UIDAI's toll-free number 1947. After calling, you will have to give the complete details of the Aadhaar Seva Kendra you visited and how much more money the officer sitting at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra was asking from you.
All this information will have to be given. After this, your complaint will be registered. After the complaint, it will be investigated. If your statement is proven true in the investigation, then action will be taken against the concerned officer.
