If your Aadhar card is 10 years old then the government has given you a big relief. The government had fixed March 14 as the date for free updating of the Aadhaar card, which has now been extended till June. UIDAI has posted on Facebook and Twitter saying that the date for free Aadhaar update has been extended to June 14, 2024, however, it would be better if you update your Aadhaar in time. UIDAI has said that there has been a huge increase in Aadhaar updates in the last few months, in view of which we have also extended the date of free Aadhaar updates. Now Aadhaar can be updated for free for the next three months i.e. till 14.06.2024.

These documents will be needed for the update
For the Aadhaar update, you will need two important documents. First identity card and second address proof. Usually, a fee of Rs 50 is charged at the Aadhaar center for an Aadhaar update, but according to UIDAI, this service is free till December 14. You can give a voter card as identity proof.

Update like this while sitting at home
Go to the UIDAI website from mobile or laptop. After this click on the option of Update Aadhaar. Now login through OTP by entering Aadhaar number. After this click on document update and verify. Now upload the scanned copy of your identity card and address proof from the drop list below.

Now click on submit. After this you will get a request number and the form will be submitted. You will also be able to check the status of the update from the request number. After a few days, your Aadhaar will be updated.
