There is a custom here not only for women but also for men. If the women will not wear clothes, then the men are not allowed to drink alcohol. Also, none of the men in the village consumes meat during this time. The whole village celebrates this festival with great faith.

Another custom is followed during this festival. Husband and wife do not talk to each other in any way. Both of them have to stay away from each other. The husband cannot even see his wife in this condition. All the women of the village participate in this ritual.

There is a belief related to demons behind the celebration of this festival. It is believed that demons created havoc in this village a long time ago. At that time the demons used to come inside the village and pick up the woman wearing beautiful clothes. Then the villagers took refuge in the deity LahuaGhond. This deity came to Pini village and saved the villagers from the demons. Since then the practice of not wearing women's clothes is going on.
Yes, there has been some change in the practice over time. Now women do not change clothes for 5 days but wear thin cloth called pattu. They have to wear it for five whole days and worship the deity.
